Miku Sonic Cosplay

Summer anime conventions are upon us ! For this year, I decided to make the glorious Sonic Miku from Project Diva.

I never had the chance to play those games but I clearly remember coming across this image when I was 13 and losing my shit. What could be better than this cosplay to celebrate my reviving obsession with Sonic and Vocaloid!

So I brought a blue tracksuit. Since it was an online purchase, I couldn't see that the two blue were not the same. And I didn't like how the sweatpants looked on me… Whatever, i was a bit frustrated but i think i can make this work (i actually decided to cut the pants to make a short and it’s a lot cuter and breathier for summer days). I cropped and cut the sleeves out of the sweatshirt. I was oversized so it gave me a lot of fabric to work on the quills and ears !

For the spikes, I used a Sonic plush pattern that I doubled in size. Here the pattern! ... Yeah it’s in Russian lol but I only took the “yxo” (ears) and “иголки” (quills, needles) shapes for this.

I sewed the ears and quills, then did some tests on the hoodie (i will hand sew themwith a ladder stitch). And oh boy i get it now how difficult it is to make something sonic related not uncanny. But I'm happy with the results so far !!!!.
